The BLT-1 blade lifting tool provides UH-60 maintenance personnel with a rotor blade lifting device when service routines require such action/equipment. Blade Lifting Tool (BLT-1) P/N 495500-1 A mobile rotor blade lifting tool, designed to be readily moved and repositioned as required for quick aircraft turnaround. This lifting tool is comprised of a two major components providing both hydraulic and manual height adjustments. The lower lifting jack portion of the tool is a half ton hydraulically actuated vertical jack while the upper blade lifting/support assembly provides a rotor blade cradle and an extension tube allowing additional manual height adjustment.
The lifting jack is an all steel structure with attached swivel casters, hydraulic actuated ram and a 24 x 24 inch base. The jack cylinder is provided with a spring loaded foot pedal for raising the jack's ram and a spring loaded release valve near the top of the lifting jack for lowering the ram.
The upper portion of the lifting tool is the blade lifting/support assembly, comprised of a steel structure and a rubber cushioned rotor blade support cradle. This cradle is attached to a set of two sliding tubes with pin stop, enabling manual height adjustment.
